No-Tech Night on Wednesday, May 29, from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m Unplug with some old-fashioned fun—board games, coloring pages, and building toys. Children ages 3 to 11 are welcome. Storytime Shakeup @ Warren Civic Center Library May 3 – May 24 Fridays 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Join us for a story, a song, and other fun stuff as we “shake up” our usual storytimes with different themes and activities! Children will hear stories and learn about topics in math and science and do hands-on activities at different stations. They will also participate in movement and sensory activities. Repco Wildlife Encounters Reptile Show @ Warren Civic Center Library Saturday, May 18 2:00 p.m. Repco Wildlife Encounters will bring ten reptiles such as a lizard, turtle, tortoise, snake, or an alligator! Game Night at the @ Warren Civic Center Library Wednesday, May 29 2:00 p.m. 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Children and their families are invited to come out to play classic board and card games. The Miller Branch Library is excited to welcome Lisa Ludwinski to discuss her book Sister Pie: The Recipes & Stories of a Big-Hearted Bakery in Detroit on Thursday, May 16, at 6 pm.     FREE supper is open to everyone and will include main entree, salad dessert and beverage.     Volunteer opportunities with Great Lakes Caring Hospice include: providing companionship to hospice patients; offering pet hterapy (pet training required); assisting with clerical work in our office; sharing your talents (such as music, art, and crafts); providing bereavement or vigil support for patients' families; attending and helping with our Tea to Remember events; interviewing and recording patients with our Life Stories program; and more! We offer: placement in your area; local training; flexible scheduling; opportunities to anyone 17 years of age or older.     The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program invites seniors age 55 and older to "just do it"- make the call that can get you connected and change your life. If you have just a few hours a month, you can make life better right where you live. Change young lives by tutoring ormentoring students; help local nonprofit agencies; work in a community garden; get onboard as a hospital volunteer; or help a neighbor to continue to live independently with handyman skills.     Methodist Children's Home Society is recruiting foster homes within Macomb County so children who reside in that area can continue to reside there and within the school district once they are placed within foster care.
