Are you an artistic kid? Do you want to learn more about the art of drawing, painting, and famous artists? Join the "Creative Kids Club" at the Miller Library. We will meet the fourth Tuesday of every month from 6:30pm-7:30pm to express our creative side and just have fun! For Tuesday, May 22, the library will provide all the supplies for children to create their own masterpiece on canvas just like famous abstract artists such as Matisse and Van Gogh! For ages 5-11. On Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free event “Library Open House.” Are you a frequent library visitor, or have you never been? Kids and their families are welcome to stop by to make crafts, learn about resources and programs, get a “behind-the-scenes” tour, and ask those burning library questions! All who visit may enter our prize drawing.

On Friday, May 25, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free event “Block Party.” Join us for a fun afternoon of inventing and building! What will you create with just LEGO and your imagination? No registration is required for this drop-in program. Ages 3 to 11.

Join us every Friday in May at 11:00 a.m., for a story, a song, and other fun stuff as we “shake up” our usual storytimes with different themes and activities! Call 586-751-0770 to register. 6/2/2018 Paddlepalooza will take place on an 8-mile stretch of the Clinton River, beginning at Riverside Park in downtown Auburn Hills and ending at the Rivercrest Banquet Center at Avon & Livernois. Event includes a race for seasoned paddlers (canoe and kayak) or a shorter, adventure paddle for individuals to paddle the river...both options include fun on the water, great scenery, wildlife and lots of fresh air! Pre-registration is advised.

6/9/2018 River Day Activities range from nature hikes, canoe trips, fishing derbies, and fly fishing lessons to storm drain stenciling, river clean-ups, habitat restoration, and native landscaping.

6/16/2018 7th Annual Sprint & Splash will be held at Lake St. Clair Metropark in Harrison Township, Michigan. In addition to a variety of competitive events, there will be music, food, craft beer and vendors. The Sprint and Splash Beach Village is open throughout the day, giving participants and spectators the option to visit local vendors before or after their race.

Warren Public Library Hosts “Meet Up and Eat Up” June 20 – August 30, 2018 Wednesdays & Thursdays. Lunches are provided only to children younger than 18.
Adults are not eligible to receive lunches. Food cannot be removed from building. Lunches will not be served on July 4 or 5, 2018. This program will be held in Atrium inside Warren City Hall.

On Saturday, June 2 and June 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Special Needs Storytime.” Join us for stories, songs, sensory activities, and crafts at this storytime designed for children with special needs. While children of all ages are welcome, the program is intended for developmental ages 2 to 5. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Siblings are invited to join in the fun! This program will be held in the Civic Center Library. Call 586-751-0770 to register.

Children and their families are invited to celebrate the opening day of Summer Reading Club on Saturday, June 16, 2018. This year's theme is Libraries Rock! Help us decorate the children's room from 1:00-4:00 p.m. and make a craft! At 2:00 p.m., Imagination Theatre will present a fun and silly sing-along hour to kick-off summer reading for children of all ages. Civic Center Library. No registration is required.

Join us on Friday, June 22 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. for a fun and exciting night as we celebrate Libraries Rock! We'll have an inflatable jousting arena, video games, pizza, music, crafts, and more! Teens from all four branches are welcome and encouraged to attend. Warren City Hall. No registration is required for this drop-in program. You must arrive by 7:00 p.m. Open to those entering grades 7 through 12 with school I.D., Michigan state I.D., or driver's license only. This is a parent-free event.

    The S.E.     Come and join us on the second and last Wednesday of the month; 6- 7 p.m., in Conference Room B (upstairs) in the Warren Community Center (5460 Arden). Aktion Club is a group of mentally or physically impaired young adults (18 years and older) and their caregivers who would like to give back to their community through helping others.     FREE supper is open to everyone and will include main entree, salad dessert and beverage. If you need to stretch your budget, want an evening of fellowship or simply don't feel like cooking, come join us the first Wednesday of every month. The dinners go from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 31654 Mound Rd., Warren, MI.
  • Great Lakes Caring: Compassionate Volunteers Needed!
    Volunteer opportunities with Great Lakes Caring Hospice include: providing companionship to hospice patients; offering pet hterapy (pet training required); assisting with clerical work in our office; sharing your talents (such as music, art, and crafts); providing bereavement or vigil support for patients' families; attending and helping with our Tea to Remember events; interviewing and recording patients with our Life Stories program; and more! We offer: placement in your area; local training; flexible scheduling; opportunities to anyone 17 years of age or older.     The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program invites seniors age 55 and older to "just do it"- make the call that can get you connected and change your life. If you have just a few hours a month, you can make life better right where you live. Change young lives by tutoring ormentoring students; help local nonprofit agencies; work in a community garden; get onboard as a hospital volunteer; or help a neighbor to continue to live independently with handyman skills.   • Foster and Adoptive Families Needed
    Methodist Children's Home Society is recruiting foster homes within Macomb County so children who reside in that area can continue to reside there and within the school district once they are placed within foster care.
