Spring storytime runs 7 weeks at the Warren Public Library from the week of March 19 through the week of May 6. Parents can call each library location to register their child. Warren residents accepted first.

Non-Profit Macomb Literacy Partners: Find out how you can change a life by becoming an adult literacy tutor. Tutor a Warren resident, two hours per week, at your local Warren library, at a time that's convenient for you. Wayne State Macomb Education Center May 11, 2017 10am-11:30am and May 10, 2017 6:30pm 

Storytime Shakeup Every Friday in May  11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. May 5,2017 -Math, May 12, 2017 – Science, May 19, 2017 – Music & Motion, May 26 - Sensory. Join us for a story, a song, and other fun stuff as we “shake up” our usual storytimes with different themes and activities! Children will hear stories and learn about topics in math and science and do hands-on activities at different stations. They will also participate in movement and sensory activities. Special Needs Storytime On Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Special Needs Storytime.” Join us for stories, songs, sensory activities, and crafts at this storytime designed for children with special needs. While children of all ages are welcome, the program is intended for developmental ages 2 to 5. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Siblings are invited to join in the fun!

Join Thumble Mobile Makerspace at the Miller Library on Tuesday, May 9, from 6-7:30 pm as they present a workshop that teaches children basic coding concepts by programing tiny round robots.

Tweens and teens are invited to create their own candle at the Miller Library on Thursday, May 11, at 6:30 pm.

Please join us at the Miller Library as we welcome Bailey Sisoy Isgro, Proprietress of Detroit History Tours on Thursday, May 25, from 6-7:30 pm. She will discuss the wild women of Detroit's history, covering topics such as crime, prohibition, and prostitution, as well as Motown greats, heiresses done good, and Rosie the Riveter.

Tinker Thursdays On Thursday, May 18 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “TinkerThursdays.” Join us for some low-tech and creative hands-on activities in our pop-up makerspace! Ages 5 to 11.

Kids, come be a part of the Miller Library’s new "Mad Scientist Club” which meets the fourth Tuesday of every month for some fun and fantastic experiments! We have all kinds of weather here in Michigan. Join us on Tuesday, May 23, at 6:30 pm and we will learn about the four seasons and try some cool weather experiments. Who doesn't love the goofy pair of Elephant and Piggie from the book series by Mo Williems? To celebrate their friendship, the Miller Library is having a party in their honor on Wednesday, May 31 at 6:30 pm.     The S.E.   • Warren Kiwanis Aktion Club
    Come and join us on the second and last Wednesday of the month; 6- 7 p.m., in Conference Room B (upstairs) in the Warren Community Center (5460 Arden). Aktion Club is a group of mentally or physically impaired young adults (18 years and older) and their caregivers who would like to give back to their community through helping others.   • FREE Community Supper the First Wednesday of Every Month
    FREE supper is open to everyone and will include main entree, salad dessert and beverage. If you need to stretch your budget, want an evening of fellowship or simply don't feel like cooking, come join us the first Wednesday of every month. The dinners go from 4:30- 6:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Church of Christ, 31654 Mound Rd., Warren, MI.
  • Great Lakes Caring: Compassionate Volunteers Needed!
    Volunteer opportunities with Great Lakes Caring Hospice include: providing companionship to hospice patients; offering pet hterapy (pet training required); assisting with clerical work in our office; sharing your talents (such as music, art, and crafts); providing bereavement or vigil support for patients' families; attending and helping with our Tea to Remember events; interviewing and recording patients with our Life Stories program; and more! We offer: placement in your area; local training; flexible scheduling; opportunities to anyone 17 years of age or older.   • Check Out New Volunteer Opportunities on the "Frontline"
    The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program invites seniors age 55 and older to "just do it"- make the call that can get you connected and change your life. If you have just a few hours a month, you can make life better right where you live. Change young lives by tutoring ormentoring students; help local nonprofit agencies; work in a community garden; get onboard as a hospital volunteer; or help a neighbor to continue to live independently with handyman skills.   • Foster and Adoptive Families Needed
    Methodist Children's Home Society is recruiting foster homes within Macomb County so children who reside in that area can continue to reside there and within the school district once they are placed within foster care.
