Youth Xplosion Dec 21 7-9pm New St Paul Church in Warren.

On Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 6:00 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, Anime Club for teens. Call 586-751-0770 to register. Teens only. This is a parent-free event.

On Friday, December 28, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Countdown to Noon.” 3, 2, 1… Happy New Afternoon! Join us for crafts, face painting and an apple juice toast as we wait for the clock to strike 12…noon, that is! Call 586-751-0770 to register. Children of all ages are welcome!

On Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Christmas Chemistry.” Children ages 6-12 will celebrate the holidays with some fun science activities using everyday materials. Projects will include Fizzy Cookie Cutters, Gum Drop STEM, and Santa Slime. Registration required; call 586-751-0770 to register.

CrAfter School (1st Friday of Each Month) 3:30 - 4:45 p.m. Busch Branch Library. January 4, 2019: It’s National Trivia Day! Stop by to test your trivia skills and to make a snowflake suncatcher. February 1, 2019: Join us to construct with LEGO and to make a snowman that won’t melt! No registration is required for this drop-in program. Ages 3 to 11

Winter Solstice Storytime on Wednesday, December 19, at 6:30 p.m. Children ages 3 to 11 are invited to celebrate (a few days early) the shortest and darkest day of the year with stories and a bird feeder craft! This program will be held in the Busch Branch Library. Registration is required; space is limited. For more information or to register, call 586-353-0580.

New Year’s Crafts on Friday, December 28, from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. Happy (almost) New Year! Let’s make some crafts to ring in the new year in style. Children ages 3 to 11 are welcome. This program will be held in the Busch Branch Library. Registration is required and begins December 7; space is limited. For more information or to register, call 586-353-0580.

On Saturday, December 15, at 2:00pm the annual laying of wreaths on the graves of veterans will take place at Union Cemetery. There are 21 identified veterans’ graves including 11 Civil War veterans. The wreaths will be placed by local scouts as the names of the veterans are read. Please join us for this event honoring those who fought to keep our country free.

Children and their families are invited to wear their pajamas AND enjoy pancakes the Miller Library on Tuesday, January 8, from 6-7 pm. Join us for delicious stories, crafts, and eat pancakes for dinner! Ages 3-8. This program will meet in the Community Center Café next door to the library. Registration required, please call 586-751-5377 to register.

With final exams coming up, teens can study or finish assignments at a dedicated study space in the Café next door to the Miller Library. The library will provide snacks, coffee, DIY stress-relief balls, a reference librarian, and of course, free Wi-Fi. Teens can drop in for either one or both days on Thursday, January 10, from 5:30-7:45 pm or Friday, January 11, from 2:00-4:45 pm. For 6th graders and up. This program will be held in Café space next door to the library. Drop-ins welcome, registration optional. Books, Brew, & Banter will meet on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, 7:30 pm, at MALONE'S TAVERN. MALONE'S TAVERN is located at 32350 Van Dyke, Warren, MI 48093. Our book for January is More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. Copies of the book and potential discussion questions can be picked up at the Miller Branch Library Circulation Desk (located in the Warren Community Center). Elana Hopman from Annabel Reese, a local calligraphy and design company, will be at the Miller Library on Thursday, January 17, at 6 pm to teach a workshop on the beautiful art of hand lettering. It’s cold outside! Children can join us at the Miller Library to make a no-sew pillow out of warm fleece on Tuesday, January 22, from 6:30-7:30 pm. For ages 5-11. Registration required; please call 586-751-5377 to register. This event will be held in Conference Room A (Room 203) of the Warren Community Center.

Moms and Dads are invited to come vent and relax, while their children get to hang out in the room next door for an hour of fun at the Miller Library on Tuesday, January 29, from 6:30-7:30 pm. Miss Amy will lead the adults in conversations about meal time struggles and picky eaters while enjoying a few snacks and Miss Pam will share fun stories, games, and crafts with the kids! For children ages 4-11 and adults of all ages! This program will be held in Rooms 502 and 503 on the second floor of the Warren Community Center. Every Monday and Wednesday the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program “PAWS to Read” with a visit from local therapy dogs.
