Halloween Gingerbread Houses On Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Halloween Gingerbread Houses.” Let’s get into the Halloween spirit and make some tasty yet spooky gingerbread houses.Registration required; call 586-751-0770 to register. Ages 5-12

No tricks! On October 31, 2018 Children can stop by Civic Center, Miller Library or Busch Library to make a Halloween craft and choose a treat. Costumes are welcome! Civic Center Library and Busch Branch Library: 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Miller Branch Library: 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. No registration is required for this drop-in program. Children of all ages are welcome.

Ever wonder what goes bump in the night in Michigan backyards? The Howell Nature Center will visit the library on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. and bring nocturnal animals, such as an owl, opossum, or flying squirrel, so children can learn more about their behavior and adaptations. This program will be held in the Conference Room next to Warren Civic Center Library located 2 blocks east of Van Dyke, one quarter mile north of 12 Mile Rd. Registration required; call 586-751-0770 beginning September 29.Children of all ages are welcome!

On Tuesday, October 16 at 6:00 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Pokemon Night for Teens.” Calling all Pokemon fans! Participate in a trivia contest and make a Pokemon terrarium craft. This program will be held in the Conference Room next to Civic Center Library in Warren City Hall. City Hall is located 2 blocks east of Van Dyke, one quarter mile north of 12 Mile Rd. Registration required; call 586-751-0770. Teens only. This is a parent-free event. On Tuesday, October 16 at 6:00 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Anime Club for teens.” Do you like anime and manga? Longtime fans and curious newcomers are invited to watch anime, talk to other fans, create themed crafts, and enjoy snacks! On Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Teen Spot.” Join us at the library for your very own Teen Spot! Everyone needs some time to just relax and hang out! We will have snacks, gaming systems, graphic novels, crafts, and more. This program will be held in the Conference Room next to the Civic Center Library in Warren City Hall located 2 blocks east of Van Dyke, one quarter mile north of 12 Mile Rd. No registration is required for this drop-in program. Teens only. This is a parent-free event. This program will be in the Conference Room.

On Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., the Warren Civic Center Library will host the free program, “Pumpkin Painting.” During October’s Teen Spot, we’ll have pumpkins available to decorate with paint. While you wait for your pumpkin to dry, join other teens for gaming, snacks, and more! This program will be held in the Conference Room next to the Civic Center Library in Warren City Hall. Fall Rummage, Soup, Bake and Christmas Sale 09.22.2018 from 9 am to 3 pm with $1 early bird admission taking place from 8 to 9 am. Fill a bag for $3 from 2-3 pm. The sale will feature homemade soup and bread, bake sale, kitchen items, toys, jewelry, clothing, books, tools, holiday items and much more. St Paul's United Church 31654 Mound Rd. Storytime Shakeup (ages 2 to 5 years) Join us for a story, a song and other fun stuff as we “shake-up” our usual storytimes with different themes and activities.

Warren Public Library is pleased to offer Prime Time Family Reading Time, a free program for children ages 6-10 and their families. Prime Time will be on Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. from September 20 to October 25, 2018. Each session includes a free meal, storytelling, and a book discussion to promote critical thinking skills. At the end of each session, each family receives a copy of a free book to take home, as well a chance at door prizes. Younger siblings are welcome. Tween and teens looking for some calm after the back to school rush can make their own mini Zen Garden out of an Altoids tin at the Miller Library on Thursday, September 20, at 6:30 pm. It’s perfect for creating some Zen in a small corner or tight desk top. For ages 10-14, teens 15-17 welcome, too. Supplies are limited; registration is required. Play and learn Groups. From  Leaps & Bounds Family Services. Held every Tuesday at the Kennedy Early Childhood Center, 11333 Kaltz, Warren 48089. From April 10, 2018 to November 12, 2018 11 am - 12:30. These free groups help young children learn their colors and numbers through play. Art activities and music and movement are all designed to help children learn while providing ideas and supports to parents and caregivers.
