Emergency Alert Test
November 9, 2011 at 2 p.m., The Federal Communications Commission and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct the first ever nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System. The test will be a significant interruption of regular television programming. It will run for about three minutes and should be seen on all channels. In addition, the video (text) portion of the Emergency Alert System message may not clearly indicate that the alert is only a test. For more information on the test, visit the website here.

Senior Outreach Day Scheduled for Macomb Township
Macomb County Senior Citizens will host a Senior Outreach Day on Wednesday, November 16, from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. in Macomb Township. Annual seasonal Flu and pneumonia vaccines, blood pressure, glucose, outdated medicine disposal and information of interest to senior citizens will be available. the clinic will be held at the Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Center, 19925 23 Mile Road. Habitat for Humanity's Annual Fundraiser- Holiday Affair
Thursday, December 1; VIP party 5- 6:30 p.m.; General admission 6:30- 11 p.m. VIP tickets cost $75, general admission $50. The event will be held at the Emerald Theatre in Mt. Clemens. Thank you for the support you have already provided this year. Macomb Habitat is very excited to kick-off the holiday season with our Hollywood Affair on Thursday, December 1, 2011. We would love to have you join us as we celebrate Old Hollywood at the Historic Emerald Theatre in Mt. Clemens. Habitat will reflect on the past year of successes and look forward to the year ahead. There will be a silent auction, live auction, raffles, strolling dinner (with beer and wine included), and live band entertainment (featuring the Teen Angels). VIP and General Admission tickets are available- VIP $75.00 (exclusive party from 5:00-6:30) and General Attendance $50.00 (party from 6:00-11:00). The VIP party will be held in a private room upstairs and includes all amenities listed above, signature cocktail, swag bags and entertainment. All proceeds support Habitat's mission to build or rehabilitate housing in partnership with families in need. We then sell the home with a zero percent interest loan to our partner families- providing them a safe place to call home.
