Transportation Services


Senior and Disabled Transportation Services

A service to help seniors and disabled persons to
remain independent for life.

Hours of operation:
Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Special events on evenings or weekends may have bus service.

Transportation office hours:
Monday- Friday 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Appointments are limited after 2:00 p.m.

Who is Eligible for Transportation:
Any Warren or Center Line resident who is 55 years of age or older or handicapped individuals.

1. All trips must be scheduled through the dispatcher.
2. Please make your requests 1 week in advance.
3. The bus/van will pick you up for shopping between the hours of 8:30- 10 a.m.
4. We cannot specify an exact time. Please be patient.
5. The shopping limit is two shopping bags per person.
6. There is a $2.00 donation for all Warren & Center Line residents.

Medical Appointments:

1. Medical appointments must be scheduled 1 week in advance.
2. All appointments need to be concluded by 3:00 p.m. If you have to wait after you have seen the doctor, please be patient as we may be late picking you up.
3. All appointments outside the City of Warren limits are a donation of $4.00 per person.

Service Area: Within 1 mile of the city limits of Warren.
Individual appointments: Mondau, Tueday & Thursday (Warren Park and Rec. Buses). No appointments
on Wednesdays.

PLEASE NOTE: If you go beyond our transportation hours of 3 p.m., you must make your own arrangements for transportation home. Drivers are not allowed to leave the vehicles to assist passengers in any way.

Monday- Friday: Owen Jax, Stilwell & Warren Community Center
Tuesday & Wednesday: Meijer
Thursday & Friday: Hair Salons

WPRD visits local malls on Thursdays. Call (586) 268-0551 for a current schedule.

Municipal Credit Tickets- SMART
1. Who's Eligible: Seniors beginning at age 60 or Handicapped Individuals.
2. Warren Residents ONLY.
3. Bus tickets can only be used for Smart transportation.
4. To register for the program you must go to 8207 E. 9 Mile (one block east of Van Dyke), bring proof of your residency, age, and proof of your disability.
5. Once you are registered, your monthly allotment of tickets are available at any Warren Parks and Recreation Office.
6. If you have any questions regarding this program, please call 268-0551.

*Note: MCT cannot be used for WPRD transportation.
