WWTP Trainee

The City of Warren is accepting applications for the position of WWTP Trainee. Employees in this position may be asked to perform varied semi-skilled tasks in the operation and maintenance of a Waste Water Treatment and/or Sewage pumping plant, while working with a GELC 227 employee of a higher classification, including work involving the maintenance and upkeep of buildings and equipment at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Requirements:
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
o Original diploma required with application
• Experience in the operation of a personnel computer.
• Successful completion of a minimum of one year of full-time schooling beyond the high school level in a mechanical trade, pre-engineering curriculum, or applied science or applied technology curriculum, or hold a Michigan Class D operator’s license.
o Official, sealed transcripts or copy of license required at time of application
• Possession of a license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Michigan.
• Driving record must meet the city standards to be insurable.

Pay rate: $22.09/hour – $28.77/hour (After 3 years)
