Home | Press Releases | MAYOR FOUTS DECLARES SNOW EMERGENCY EFFECTIVE 11PM TONIGHT
I am officially issuing a snow emergency today, Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Starting at 11 p.m. tonight you must have your vehicle off city streets. If it is not removed you may face a large fine or removal of your vehicle by a tow truck.
Plowing will be completed by garbage routes. Sanitation pickup will be as normal. Please help your neighbors with snow removal on sidewalks and driveways. Kindness goes a long way for the elderly and those with disabilities.
Let neighbors also know about the snow emergency declaration.
Other points:
1) DPW will be out plowing 365 miles of city streets. GPS will be up by 11 p.m. when the plows start.
2) Priority is the main roads such as 9, 11, 13, Hoover, and Ryan.
3) Second priority will be 1/2 mile roads.
4) Next school bus routes.
5) Followed by neighborhood roads.
Note: This is the largest snowfall this year and with the size of Warren it will take some time. Please do not drive unless you absolutely have to! Get your vehicle off the street early rather than after the plows have come by. If you do not have a driveway then make arrangements with a neighbor or at last resort, use your lawn area. We have NO desire to punish you for not taking your vehicle off the street, but try to be a good neighbor and get your vehicle off the street and help others if they can’t do it on their own. If we all work together this will be a safe time period for all.
**All city employees will be called upon to work mandatory overtime! Stayed tuned for updates.
Sincerely,
Mayor Jim Fouts
