Open Burning

• Open burning is allowed in the City of Warren.

In January of 2010, the Warren Fire Department reinstated EMS transport. The Fire Department does not bill Warren residents for EMS transport, instead billing their insurance company. For Warren residents, the Warren Fire Department accepts as payment in full whatever amount the insurance company will pay, with no deductible or co-pays. EMS transport has been a huge success, bringing in approximately $2.5 million a year.

Currently the Fire Department has an EMS transport vehicle operating out of all six stations. It is the first time in department history that the fire department has had six EMS transport vehicles in service on a daily basis.

As a firefighter and member of the Warren Fire Department, my fundamental duty is to serve the community; to safeguard and preserve life and property against the elements of fire and disaster; and maintain a proficiency in the art and science of fire engineering

I recognize the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith, and I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of the fire service. I will never use my official position to obtain advantages or favors for myself, my friends or family.

I will constantly strive to achieve the objectives and ideals, dedicating myself to my chosen profession–saving of life, fire prevention and fire suppression.

As a member of the Warren Fire Department, I accept this self-imposed and self-enforced obligation as my responsibility.

Warren Fire Department Drone Team

The Warren Fire Department Drone Team enhances situational awareness, safety, and efficiency across a wide range of emergency operations. Our program is staffed by 21 FAA Part 107 licensed pilots, representing one of the most capable and technically skilled public safety drone units in the region.

Our fleet includes several specialized aircraft; each selected for its unique capabilities:

• DJI M30T – A heavy-duty, all-weather platform equipped with thermal imaging, zoom optics, and laser range finding for precision overwatch and fireground assessment.
• DJI M3T – A compact, mission-flexible drone with high-resolution and thermal imaging capabilities ideal for rapid deployment and search operations.
• DJI Avata – A first-person-view (FPV) drone used for close-quarters and interior assessments, providing real-time perspectives that improve tactical decision-making.
• DJI Mini Pro 3 – A lightweight, portable option for quick recon and documentation tasks where agility and low profile are essential.

Our drone team supports large-scale fire incidents, search and rescue operations, hazardous materials responses, and technical rescue training. We also assist with incident command and post-incident analysis, providing live aerial imagery that improves decision-making, enhances firefighter safety, and increases the effectiveness of our emergency response efforts.

Through continuous training and innovation, the Warren Fire Department Drone Team demonstrates the power of technology to support the mission of protecting lives, property, and the community we serve.
