Warren Fire Department Drone Team
The Warren Fire Department Drone Team enhances situational awareness, safety, and efficiency across a wide range of emergency operations. Our program is staffed by 21 FAA Part 107 licensed pilots, representing one of the most capable and technically skilled public safety drone units in the region.
Our fleet includes several specialized aircraft; each selected for its unique capabilities:
- DJI M30T – A heavy-duty, all-weather platform equipped with thermal imaging, zoom optics, and laser range finding for precision overwatch and fireground assessment.
- DJI M3T – A compact, mission-flexible drone with high-resolution and thermal imaging capabilities ideal for rapid deployment and search operations.
- DJI Avata – A first-person-view (FPV) drone used for close-quarters and interior assessments, providing real-time perspectives that improve tactical decision-making.
- DJI Mini Pro 3 – A lightweight, portable option for quick recon and documentation tasks where agility and low profile are essential.
Our drone team supports large-scale fire incidents, search and rescue operations, hazardous materials responses, and technical rescue training. We also assist with incident command and post-incident analysis, providing live aerial imagery that improves decision-making, enhances firefighter safety, and increases the effectiveness of our emergency response efforts.
Through continuous training and innovation, the Warren Fire Department Drone Team demonstrates the power of technology to support the mission of protecting lives, property, and the community we serve.

The City of Warren Fire Department is the largest public EMS provider in Macomb County. Our firefighters respond to over 20,000 calls each year, including nearly 13,000 EMS transports. All of our firefighter-paramedics are highly trained and fully equipped to handle medical emergencies ranging from heart attacks to major trauma.
We operate seven transporting ambulances (Squads), staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. In addition, six Advanced Life Support (ALS) fire engines—each staffed with paramedics—ensure that lifesaving care begins immediately, even if an engine company arrives before an ambulance.
Our paramedics utilize state-of-the-art medical equipment and participate in ongoing training to ensure that our community receives the highest quality care.
The Warren Fire Department does not bill Warren residents directly for EMS transports. We bill the patient’s insurance company and accept the insurance payment as payment in full—with no deductibles or co-pays for Warren residents.
As a firefighter and member of the Warren Fire Department, my fundamental duty is to serve the community; to safeguard and preserve life and property against the elements of fire and disaster; and maintain a proficiency in the art and science of fire engineering
I will uphold the standards of my profession, continually search for new and improved methods and share my knowledge and skills with my contemporaries and successors.
I will not allow personal feelings, nor danger to self, deter me from my responsibilities as a firefighter.
I will at all times, respect the property and rights of all men and women, the laws of my community and my country, and the chosen way of life of my fellow citizens.
I recognize the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith, and I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of the fire service. I will never use my official position to obtain advantages or favors for myself, my friends or family.
I will constantly strive to achieve the objectives and ideals, dedicating myself to my chosen profession–saving of life, fire prevention and fire suppression.
As a member of the Warren Fire Department, I accept this self-imposed and self-enforced obligation as my responsibility.

There is no shame or judgement in a safe surrender. Surrendering your newborn is safe, legal, and confidential under the Michigan Safe Delivery of Newborns Law. A safe surrender is designed to protect women in crisis and save the life of a newborn infant without resorting to a fatal abandonment.
The Michigan Safe Delivery of Newborns Law allows the surrender of your newborn, who is no more than 3 days old, to a uniformed employee who is inside and on duty at any fire station, police station or hospital. Metal signs hang on the exterior of all fire stations in the city of Warren, indicating a safe delivery site. You do not have to be a resident of the city of Warren to use our fire stations as a safe surrender.
Our emergency personnel are compassionate, well trained, and make the care of you and your infant their top priority. They will ask some questions about your baby’s health as well as yours to help give the best emergency care. All information is confidential. Your identity will be kept confidential.
You may surrender the infant and leave without answering any questions There is no obligation to leave any information, but you are encouraged to complete the voluntary forms. Confidential forms are linked and can be filled out and left with the infant. Again, any information you choose to share will be kept confidential.
