Home | Press Releases | WARREN CITY HALL LIGHTS UP FOR 21ST INTERNATIONAL OVERDOSE AWARENESS DAY
Today, August 31, 2021 the city of Warren joins people across America in observing the 21st International Overdose Awareness Day. Warren city hall will be lit from dusk August 31 until dawn September 1 in purple and silver/white.
International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is about remembering loved ones lost and acknowledging the grief of family and friends left behind.
It is also about taking real action to save lives, the cause is more important than ever now. The evidence is clear – COVID-19 is leading to increased overdose deaths in the United States. In 2020 over 93,000 people lost their lives due to fatal overdoses.
