WARREN CITY HALL LIGHTS UP FOR PITT HOPKINS SYNDROME AWARENESS DAY ON SATURDAY, SEPT. 18, 2021

Warren City Hall will be lit in blue lights Saturday, Sept. 18 from dusk until dawn Sunday, Sept. 19 to bring public attention to Pitts Hopkins syndrome.

Pitt Hopkins syndrome is a condition characterized by intellectual disability and developmental delay, breathing problems, recurrent seizures (epilepsy), and distinctive facial features.

Approximately 1000 Pitt Hopkins syndrome patients have been identified worldwide, but there are many who remain undiagnosed. A Warren resident Nicole Turkiela reached out to Mayor Fouts about this condition a few years ago, her child Isabella is diagnosed with Pitt Hopkins Syndrome. Mayor Fouts issued a proclamation and has directed that city hall be lit up to bring awareness.

Sincerely,

Mayor James R. Fouts
