Alfred Schrank is 86 years old and still going strong. He always lends his neighbors a helping hand and never asks for anything in return. He grew up in poverty and has a 7th-grade education, however, he was determined to make it in the world! He served in the Air Force and later went to art school. Using his talents, Alfred designed art on the boxes of AMT model cars! He then moved on to be a commercial artist in Detroit, where his work was featured all over Michigan’s billboards. When the commercial art business became obsolete, he found another job driving a truck until the age of 83. He only stopped to take care of his dying wife. If those jobs weren’t enough, he also worked at Maple Lane Golf Course! Thank you for your service Alfred, and thank you for being an exceptional example of what it means to keep going and never give up!
