DTE Energy Awards City of Warren $51,920 for Energy Improvements
DTE has awarded the City of Warren $51,920 for energy improvements at the city’s wastewater treatment plant.
The improvement was installation of a more energy efficient compressor for the treatment plant’s secondary aeration process, one of the most energy intensive processes at the plant.
The treatment plant partnered with Johnson Controls to implement making energy-saving improvements at the facility.
The award is part of the DTE Energy Efficiency Program for businesses for projects that successfully achieve energy savings and can be used to influence other commercial and industrial customers, with similar equipment and processes, to implement similar energy savings projects.
The new 650 horsepower compressor met all criteria for an eligible project and was successfully installed in the required time period within 60 days after submittal of the final application.
