Home | Press Release Archive | MAYOR JIM FOUTS DIRECTS CITY HALL TO LIGHT UP FOR FRAGILE X SYNDROME AWARENESS
I have directed that Warren City Hall will be lit up in teal tonight, Friday, July 21, 2023 for Fragile X Syndrome Day. It will be lit up from dusk tonight until dawn on Saturday, July 22, 2023
World Fragile X Day is the initiative of FRAXA Research Foundation (www.fraxa.org), the leading non-profit focused on funding research for effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Fragile X syndrome. Fragile X syndrome is a rare genetic developmental disability that is the leading known cause of both inherited intellectual disability and autism spectrum disorder. Raising awareness for Fragile X syndrome is crucial as it helps to accelerate progress toward effective treatments and ultimately a cure. Treatments for Fragile X syndrome are also likely to help people who have Alzheimer’s or other brain disorders.
I am honored to help bring public awareness to Fragile X Syndrome.
Sincerely,
Mayor James R. Fouts
