Residents in Oakland and Macomb Counties can receive FEMA Assistance Following Record Flooding

Residents are welcome to apply for assistance at https://www.disasterassistance.gov/, via phone at 800-621-3362, or using the FEMA App. The deadline to apply is October 13, 2021. Attached is FEMA’s press release, fact sheet on the Individual Assistance Program, and their Help After a Disaster brochure.

Note that those individuals who preemptively registered prior to the addition of the addition of Macomb & Oakland counties do not need to apply again. Their information was retained and they will be contacted. It is important to note that this disaster declaration is for disaster-related losses from the severe storms and flooding of June 25-26, 2021 only.

Constituents can also call the FEMA hotline at 800-621-3362 with questions or to check the status of their application. Operators are multilingual and calls are answered 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET, seven days a week.
