Home | Press Release Archive | WARREN GOVERNMENT OFFICES EXPERIENCING PHONE OUTAGES
Warren Government Offices are currently experiencing regional phone outages caused by old technology which needed to be replaced. This was partially delayed when the Warren City Council refused to approve my request to upgrade our antiquated phone system. This rejection prolonged the process. I did sign an emergency purchase order which finally got the process rolling. Council did object to any emergency purchase order. I apologize for the disruption but our IT department is working with our service provider to get service restored ASAP. We are currently working on completing the process but it will take several months to complete this effort. Those with Verizon or T-Mobile seem to have the most trouble contacting us. There will be a pre-test by the end of the month and then another in February. Thus, at the latest by March our phone system will be upgraded. Once all circuits are up we will be done!
Sincerely,
Mayor Jim Fouts
