Home | Press Release Archive | WARREN MAYOR JIM FOUTS DIRECTS WARREN CITY HALL TO BE ILLUMINATED IN BLUE AND YELLOW TONIGHT, TUESDAY, MARCH 21 FOR WORLD DOWN SYNDROME DAY
I have directed that Warren City Hall will be lit up in blue and yellow tonight, Tuesday, March 21, 2023 for World Down Syndrome Day. It will be lit up from dusk tonight until dawn on Wednesday, March 22, 2023
Warren resident Taylor Johnson who serves on the Warren Commission on Disabilities contacted me and requested to light up city hall in blue and yellow for World Down Syndrome Day. Taylor’s 4-year-old son, George has Down syndrome. She also indicated to me that World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated every year on March 21st. It is on 3-21 because Down syndrome is the existence of a 3rd copy of the 21st chromosome; it is the most common genetic anomaly.
I am honored to help bring public awareness to Down syndrome on World Down Syndrome Day.
Sincerely,
Mayor James R. Fouts
