Warren Opens 2 Warming Centers Tuesday, January 29

Full Press Release

Warren, MI – Because of sub-zero weather forecasts, Warren Mayor Jim Fouts is converting two city buildings into warming centers on Tuesday, January 29.

The two centers are:
Owen Jax – 8209 E. 9 Mile Road (east of Van Dyke) –
4 p.m. Tuesday – 8 a.m. Wednesday

Warren Community Center – 5460 Arden (west of Mound, south of 14 Mile) –
8 p.m. Tuesday – 8 a.m. Wednesday

Fouts said the centers will provide light meals, cots, blankets/pillows and showers-(showers only at 5460 Arden).

On November 29, Fouts sponsored a fund-raiser for the Macomb County Warming Center raising $6,500.

“Please also remember not to leave your dog or other pets outside. Tethering a dog outside in this severe cold is against the law and can lead to a fine or jail sentence,” said Fouts.
