Warren’s TV Warren Earns 3 Communication Awards of Distinction

The International Academy of the Visual Arts has awarded TV Warren, the city’s cable TV station, three Communication Awards, according to Warren Mayor Jim Fouts.

All winners for the Communicator Awards are hand-selected by the IAVA, an invitation-only group consisting of top-tier professionals from acclaimed media, communications, advertising and creative and marketing films.

The award-winning entries from TV Warren are:

Category: Program/News – Political Commentary
Winning Entry – Fouts Forum – Mayor Jim Fouts interviewed internationally renowned forensic pathologist Dr. Werner Spitz on the Kennedy assassination. The producer was Tracey Perry.

Category: Program/News – Talk Show/Interview
Winning Entry – Warren Biz – Interview of Macomb Community College President James Jacobs on his 2014 economic forecast. The producer was Damon Parnell.

Category: Print Magazine – Government
Winning Entry – Winter 2013/2014 City of Warren Newsbeat Magazine – a collaborative effort with the Public Service, Communications, Parks & Recreation Departments. The production staff was Rebecca Friedman, Wendy Maniere and Christina Barnes.

Fouts said the awards “were the result of the creative efforts of Lark Samouelian, communications director, and her hard-working staff.”
