Lori M. Stone
A lifelong resident of Warren, she graduated from Fitzgerald Public Schools and the Macomb Mathematics Science Technology Center. Stone went on to earn her bachelor’s degrees in political theory and constitutional democracy and also elementary education. She went on to earn her master’s degree in science education from Michigan State University. Stone was a 2017 fellow with the Michigan Political Leadership Program.
As a third-generation educator, Stone has dedicated her life to improving the quality of public education and most recently taught fourth grade at Mound Park Elementary School. With 14 years of distinguished service as a teacher, Stone brings her wealth of experience, knowledge of best practices, and commitment to policy implementation to Warren. As a proud member of the Michigan Education Association and Fitzgerald Education Association, Stone has advocated for students, teachers, public education, and unions.
An active leader in the community, Stone volunteered for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Warren for 13 years. She served as mentor and buddy runner with Mound Park’s YMCA Girls on the Run program and is a supporter of the Warren Civic Theatre. Stone is also a part of the Warren Center Line Prevention Coalition and is president of the Warren Symphony Society.
As a legislator, Stone focused on preparing students for their futures by addressing the quality of public education, bolstering hardworking families, improving the state’s infrastructure, and creating comprehensive solutions to bring down the costs of auto insurance without sacrificing coverage.
